At roughly 8:30 a.m. on a recent Friday, the last group of stragglers filtered into a large room set with rows of chairs at PAIKKA, an upscale wedding venue in St. Paul. String lights hung from rafters attached to a high, vaulted ceiling. Coffee mugs in hand, the 125 or so people in the audience sat attentively, waiting for the Ramaswamy family to begin speaking.
